The display above is generated using data from 10 air-sampling monitors in the US EPA's RadNet monitoring network. Each station passes air through a filter element which is monitored by gamma and beta detectors. Each plot shows overall gamma count rates from a given monitor over the past 5 days.

Note: These detectors are highly sensitive instruments, designed to detect extremely minute traces of radionuclides in the air. Radioactive isotopes are naturally abundant in the environment, and their concentrations vary from location to location. Readings can also fluctuate significantly on a daily basis. Therefore it is important that you do not attempt to draw any conclusions based on this data unless you have the requisite background and expertise.
This site is intended for informational and illustrative purposes. Data presented here may be subject to delays or errors, and should not be used for any purpose other than the aforementioned. Accessibility of RadNet data can vary due to data review procedures and technical issues, which may affect the timeliness of the data displayed.
